Public Transport is part concept mini LP, part provocation, and part art project. It was originally conceived of as an online mixtape meant to capture the mood of a typical Berlin winter cold and introspective - but it soon turned into a 7 song mini LP about the trials of being in a relationship: the longing, the miscommunication, the hurt, and the ability to forgive and to move on.

Originally entitled Black and Bruised: The Mixtape For Suicidal Lovers, Public Transport is definitely blue on the sound spectrum. Not unlike the previous The Tape vs RQM efforts it remains a subtle genre bender. The compositions swim fluidly between acoustic and electronic, between Hip Hop, Neo-Folk, and the endless shades of Rock, while a universe of IDM stutters, clicks, glitches, and rewinds forms the space for the heartbroken confessions of the featured vocalists. Back on vocal duty alongside RQM are the familiar voices of Malte Beckenbach, and Sasha Perera of Jahcoozi, but also new timbres, that of Elle P and Ira - all of whom bring with them an emotional weight and honesty that is too often missing in music these days.

Outside of The Tape we’re both involved in projects that are rolling with the demands of Bass Culture keeping it loud, uptempo, stripped down in composition and emotional syntax, and heavy on the low end. In a sense The Tape is our sonic vacation from all of that. RQM To provoke a discussion on the impending death of the physical formats in music Public Transport will only be available on digital platforms as a digital LP, and elsewhere as a limited edition cassette tape. Only 100 cassette tapes of the LP were produced and each of them was later hand designed or repackaged by a different visual artist. Being that “Public Transport”, the title song, is about a relationship disintegrating described through graffiti related metaphors it was only natural that visual support for the limited edition tapes was handled by Berlins leading street art experts. Some of the artists in the mix include: NoStyleFuckers, Evol, Klub7, David Hofmann, Stromausfall alias Frank Dudda, Boxi, Nele Konopka, Marion Gerth, Julio Roelle, Jost Althoff, Gesa Roskamp
