The Diogenes Club conspire to bring electronic music with a playful twist and a little ‘je nais se qua’. ‘Jaunt’ belatedly follows up 2002’s celebrated ‘Music For The Soul EP’ and demonstrates once more the unquestionable talent of ringleader Matthew Williams. Despite the long wait for this follow-up, the Club have not been completely languorous, masterminding a string of cheeky and inspired bootlegs that have found their way onto BBC Radio 1 courtesy of the Trophy Twins including a sublime reworking of Depeche Mode’s ‘Enjoy The Silence’. ‘Jaunt’ takes The Diogenes Club’s trademark 80’s synths and tripped-out beats to another level, and enthralling remixes from Harry Peat and Mazi and Joshua Collins make this package a real feast of distinct textured electronic melodies.
