Palm Skin returns with his 3rd EP for Freerange entitled Fall Away and is chock full of string drenched, deep electronic house and mutant funk. Never one to play it safe or make life easy for himself Palm Skin has dug extra deep, twiddled an extra knob or three and come up with two extra freaky tracks, the likes of which youll have a hard time comparing to anything else out there at the moment. Lead track Fall Away is a subtly glitchy, cut up, electronic groover with strings that Mr Braddock would be proud of. This is one to lose yourself in as the bassline filters and morphs teasingly. Very understated, very deep, very good. Next up is Wrecked, another deep and rolling one with a bouncy b-line and crisp n dry beats. Chuck in the odd Gil Evans orchestral sample here and there and wallop.. Johnny Fiasco was the obvious choice for remixer for this EP seeing as Palmskin himself is obsessed with Johnnys 1995 track Conduction on Cajual. A stripped back, Chi-Town groove that bumps n grinds with his trademark shuffle and old school house beats.
