This is how to do dirty house. Mean riffs, big bad filthy bass drums so fulsome one suspects they'll rip the floor asunder. ‘I Sleep In Sellotape’ is nasty, fun stuff from King Unique's Matt Watkins and his pal Steve Mercer. It's like Daft Punk doing minimal with Brian Eno adding the whooshy bits. Thunderous walking bass and a nasty nasal sliding little synth line that sounds like you’re being bullied at primary school (it makes sense when you hear it). Dry and tracky as you like – until the icy chords come in and the whole thing trips out in a Kupon style. And ‘Nesk’ is more of the same - but backwards. Nesk creates an altogether deeper atmosphere with moody Eno-esque chords and a minimal approach to the percussion.
