Margot meets The Melody Maker - Torch

[Extrawelt Remix]

Label: Great Stuff Recordings
Date: 10.05.06
Play Length: 06:57

Released on a German label but produced by Italians, this is a splendidly minimal re-working of Soft Cell’s Torch. The beats are kept taut and well measured, while Margot’s Nico-esque delivery lends it genuine Weimar Republic atmosphere and mystery. Imagine what Murk might sound like if they were pallid Europeans rather than frisky Cubans and you’d be getting warm. Border Community's Extrawelt come up with 2 mixes that spin it right out, sending the vocals into another dimension and giving it a techno fell with plenty of effects and atmospherics.
