Hot on the heels of Mark Knight’s ‘Toolroom Knights’, label stalwart and Radio 1 DJ Dave Spoon steps forth to deliver the newest in the ‘Toolroom Knights’ series. Spoon needs little introduction being one of the UK’s most exciting new producers/DJs. Signing ‘21st Century' to Toolroom Records in 2004 was the breaking point for Spoon, an instant success supported by the likes of Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler, & Pete Tong to name but a few. On a roll the ‘Sunrise EP’ followed, and was instantly signed to Seamus Haji’s Big Love imprint. With the buzz and hype surrounding his releases the remixes poured in with re-works for the hottest underground labels. In 2006 keen to push musical boundaries and break new sounds Spoon released ‘At Night’, an almighty dance floor hit, championed by literally every big name DJ in the world. With an added vocal in 2007 courtesy of Lisa Mafia the track crossed over as ‘Bad Girl (At Night)’, the biggest record of the summer, earning Spoon his first top 40 hit. Having recently landed himself a show on Radio 1’s ‘In new DJ’s we trust’, and with various studio projects gaining him massive popularity it seemed the perfect time for Dave Spoon to take to the decks and deliver the next instalment of ‘Toolroom Knights’.

With the album telling a different story with each mix Dave Spoon mixes sounds from Sebastian Ingrosso, John Dahlback, Zoo Brazil, Deadmau5, & Midfield General, alongside forgotten gems like Zero B ‘Lock Up’ & Basement Jaxx’s ‘Flylife’.

Mix 1 entitled Main Room is exactly that, a storming straight up House mix opening with ‘Baditude’, Spoon, Harris & Obernik’s massive new single. Mix 2 entitled ‘Basement’ takes a slightly different twist, and is guaranteed to delight fans of Spoon’s remix of Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Flex’. A raw and rocket-fuelled mix that melds the classic sounds of Spoons origins with the current sound of producers like Herve and Count of Monte Cristal.
