A youthful Satoshi Tomiie made a grand entry on the house music stage in 1989 thanks to his part, alongside Frankie Knuckles and Robert Owens, in the classic ‘Tears’. Hooking up with Knuckles and David Morales in Def Mix, a family that’s still going strong today, Satoshi was never the most prolific of producers, but he did turn up this gem in 1994. ‘The Theme’ was never a huge record - it’s just a little too thoughtful and musical to cause mayhem on a dancefloor – but as a superbly musical deep house groove, it’s very hard to beat.
