This amazing album is a collaboration between two talents from the States: Daru & Reggie B. Daru is a hip hop producer from Michigan who makes beats as raw as Madlib and as dope as Japans DJ Mitsu the beats.

He is the drummer for Slum Village and Dwele and travels the world with those cats. Daru has produced for the likes of Tableek (Maspyke), Ab (Slum Village), Nathaniel Roberts, VaNatta (Mute), and numerous unknown talents from the USA. No doubt that this man’s take on hip hop is an interesting one! Reggie B. is a singer/songwriter from California who did collabs with Saadiq and Wajeed of the Platinum Pied Pipers. He is part of the producers collective Innatesounds Crew, consisted of legendary Joc Max & J.Rawls of Basement Khemist (Beyond Real), raw soul beatmaker Miles Bonny (Melting Pot) and other dope talents from Mid West USA.

Now Daru & reggie B. join forces and come with this awesome debut album for 4lux Recordings called Future Music. Future music is a mixture of hip hop, soul and funk. First track of the album is called It’s not a game which is a dope instrumental hip hop track with occasional vocal snippets.

This song will definitely appeal to all the beatheads out there The title track Future Music is a deep and infectious soul groover which mixes soulful vocals with warm Fender Rhodes and clever production. This is a banger for sure! The album features a bonus version of this tune too. 4lux head honcho Gerd made a perfect edit for the dance floor. Next up is the stupendous I was wrong.

A wicked Daru beat carries Reggies vocals to full effect and reminds to some of Amp Fiddlers earlier stuff. Play House is a sample heavy beat with cool Maxwell-like vocals. Smooth and sexy! The free-spirited Stay Free is a welcome mixture of hip hop, soul & meets gospel. Additional backing vocals are provided by Jeff Byrd, this is Daru & Reggie B. at their best!

Anywhere you go, A ways to go and Cry no more make this album a very diverse one. Influences from hip hop artists Eric B., Pete Rock, RZA and Dj Premier combined with a pinch of Prince & Parliament.

Good Love is based upon chopped up hip hop beats and powerful song writing. This song is a good example of todays nu-ground soul and hip hop.
