Bloco Electro is a percussion group that explores the ground where tradition and technology collide. Led by Gavin Lombos, they make exciting music that combines the raw energy of a live drumming group with contemporary dance club sounds. The group plays a mixture of traditional acoustic drums such as timba, congas, djembes, bongos and kit.

They combine the traditional rhythms normally played on those drums with new beats played on contemporary electronic percussion. Here, with their debut album on Earth Connection, they deliver 12 tracks of solid, percussive broken beats. Heavily supported by Annie Nightengale on Radio 1 on both her radio show and live ‘Introducing’ tour, when you check this album out you’ll see exactly why.
