Label - Slave Recordings

Label Bio - Slave Recordings
Slave Recordings was set up in early 2004 by Dean J Marriott AKA D.Ramirez. The ethos behind the label was to create a medium for total artistic freedom, where Dean could release exactly the type of music he had come to know and love, without having to answer to the A&R department of the big labels. Herein lies the essence of all that is Slave.
After 7 releases on his last imprint, Vudu, including tracks by Tom Stephan, Deepgroove, Tony Thomas and Cuba II. The first Slave release, D.Ramirez “Freaque On” featuring the awesome vocals of Pete Simpson achieved much critical acclaim, and was to featured on many compilations around the world. Following this up with the immensely successful Bobby Lorenz – 1995, Slave quickly asserted itself as a prominent player in the underground UK house scene and developed a reputation for delivering top quality chunky, tech-fuelled, twisted, driving house music.
Artists on the label are many of Deans friends and peers including Tom Stephan, Deepgroove, Justin Drake of Peace Division fame, Bobby Lorenz, and of course D.Ramirez. Look out for the latest signing from Man In The Cupboard with a track called "I Don't Care", a deeply druggy, chugging houser which will appeal to DJ's across the board.
Forthcoming releases include tracks from D.Ramirez & Tom Stephan, the new Bobby Lorenz track – “Think” featuring remixes from Deepgroove and D.Ramirez vs. Kristoph Stereowhore mix, and a re-release of the hugely successful D.Ramirez classic "Venus & Mars" (You Can’t Handle This).
