Kompis' intention is to work with fresh talent & established producers to create a strong roster from the word go.

Ted Nilsson, the brains behind the label, came up with the name 'Kompis' (meaning 'FRIEND' in Swedish) while running his sister label Discoshed.

He wanted another imprint on which he could push out the tracks that affected him inspirationally. It was also a natural progression to create a label that dealt with the more darker, grittier department of house, allowing him to showcase it on a label with a more distinct sound. Sensing there was a gap in the market for this kind of label... Kompis was created!

Kompis was the perfect outlet for Ted to take a few more artistic risks and become more experimental in the studio. With a driven ambition for quality, as opposed to the 'whats hot right now' attitude, Kompis aims to set itself apart from the rest in terms of it's vision.

Kompis is about striving to nurture talent 'in-house', rather than grabbing the talent after they have made it. You have a much better chance of being there if they make it big if you have been there since the beginning... common sense prevails.
