Shimakum got infected by music and started playing the guitar at a very young age. But after going out more often he found his true love: electronic music. In the beginning he listened to more dubby and triphop sounds and started to play as a deejay in local bars in Ghent. Together with some friends he also started to produce his own music by experimenting with drumcomputers, samplers and effects. Around ‘96 Shimakum got more and more fascinated by the powerful drive of techno and started to explore this genre.

Nowadays Shimakum plays qualitative techno, spiced with some tribal grooves & melodies brought with very tight mixing skills. Sometimes Shimakum plays together with Seba Lecompte, then they battle with four decks, two mixers and special prepared loops and samples.
