Afroboogie Recordings was started by DJ/Producer Nelson and Producer/Engineer and all-round tech-head Neil Ward. Both grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa where Nelson was a successful DJ. Playing regularly in the club circuit the two met at a club Nelson was resident at, and it was soon after that they started working in Neil's studio together. Both Nelson and Neil have since relocated to Belgium and the UK respectively.

Afroboogie hope to ensure a consistency of quality peak time productions for up-front DJ's who like their music tough and energetic. The artist roster currently consists of Nelson and Paul themselves, but collaborations with, and releases from other producers are in the pipeline. They put together a brilliant Afroboogie remix of Faithless’ Mass Destruction for a competition run by BBC Radio 1, and were just pipped at the post to make a very creditable second position. Bigger things definitely lie in store for this talented duo’s label.
