Last Saturday was incredible. Vanguard was rocking! John Digweed played heavy progno, and it was definitely one of the best time’s I’ve heard him play recently. He played a new remix of his Warung Beach from the soon-to-be-out Bedrock release which destroyed us all and a tune I really really really really wish I would have bothered to ask about. It was synthy and just built and built but had a groovy ass bassline like oldy prog. It was brilliant. He also played a song by my good friends Android Cartel which just made thier night. I’m pretty sure I saw them both get a bit teary eyed. lol. My set was lots of fun and I hope people enjoyed it. I played deep and groovy with a few techy moments but never peaked over 124 bpm with tunes by Guy Gerber, Skylark, Manuel Tur, and Kevin Yost and more. I recorded my set and will play it on B-Sides soon. Big thank you’s to the vocal and mental people in Los Angeles, Giant, Beth, and Diggers.
I rounded off my short trip to LA with some pictures and some wandering around. You can check them here.

As we came out of the club we curled up in the parking lot to smoke. We noticed this car full of stuff and walked closer and as we went around it we noticed there was a person in there. Amazing isn’t it? How the fuck do they get in? Or out? So much shit in there.

John gave me a copy of Guy J’s album Esperanza and its just lovely. Lots of interesting layers and textures and moments in this. Give it a go. I think you’ll be impressed.

“progno.” Is that this decade’s answer to 70’s porno music?
