G’day. I have just finished a dj tour of Australia which was a lot of fun. Finely Tuned, the people who organised it all for me did a brilliant job. Everything was worked out perfectly. I didn’t experience a single hiccup with flights, hotels & bookings, and that makes a big difference when you’re proper jet-lagged and desperate to grab a couple of hours sleep here and there between gigs and another journey.

I spent a lot of time in Sydney (L.A. Meets NYC?), where I deejayed for Street Party at the Arts Factory (Click Click) and for Disco Not Disco at Favela. Even though it’s winter down under (better than our summer here in the UK if you ask me) I managed to jump in the sea in Byron Bay – hippy-surfers’ paradise - when I played for La La Land, I also stopped in Brisbane for a gig at the Empire. They say Melbourne is the most European city of Oz and indeed Wow the Street Party I was invited to play at was full of indie-electro kids who wouldn’t have looked out of place at a Klaxons gig in Blighty. I even ventured down West for a gig in Perth (Shape) which is a mere 4000 kms from Sydney (that’s 2700 miles!).

As a French residing in London, it never quite occurred to me how close Australians are actually to Brits, the same enthusiasm for music and partying, friendly, easy going, up for it… No wonder they’re referred to as cousins.
