Since the Beginning of time the elders have had strong visions of a bass driven, party rockin’, tech-electro sound. Now the year is 2008 and such visions have manifested into conscience reality. Known only as fRew, (with a Capital R) An Australian DJ/Producer that augments your club experience to greater heights. He hypnotizes even the most blasé bodies with his amazing & unique style of dance floor rhythms. In early 2007, fRew reached the next level by writing his own music and signing with the world’s fastest growing and forward thinking label, Vacation Records.

Frew is a little nuts who has been releasing twisted monster tracks…His latest track is called ‘fixed mind’ and should def come with a warning - it’s no holds barred approach offers little subtlety and much dirty techy mayhem. The bass line puts the biggest sound systems to the test, and it’s sure to send even the most reserved hammock haunters scurrying straight for the dance floor. Apparently fRew is on fire at the moment. He has a long list of releases garnering support from the biggest jocks on the planet. Descriptive words such as “Tight!” & “Wicked, Fucking Wicked!” from Ali B (Fabric) and Smithmonger are used to sum up fRew’s incredibly catchy yet cutting edge re rub of Bass Kleph’s ‘Bump Uglies’. UK’s Jnr J was left baffled stating, “This fRew character is mental, he’s not done a track I don’t love!”

What are your favourite production tools /gadgets?
The power of Logic and Ableton Live cannot be beat!

How do you handle obsessive groupies? (The hot ones)
Mannn! I don’t yet believe in groupies……..

Where’s your favourite place to play ?
Favorite in Sydney are Chinese Laundry & Moulin Rouge. Empire hotel in Brisbane has been great. Code in New Zealand was amazing also!

If there is one rule in life to live by, what is it?
Pure vibes.. and good times.

Which is your personal favourite track that you’ve produced & why?
Favorite track that i have produced would defiantly be My first release “Shake with it” the reason is because its so simple.

Which is more appealing to you while djing - to dig out a relatively old track, or play the newest release?
There is nothing worse than disposable music. Personally I’m all for quality. I play new & old releases in my DJ sets. I feel this is something aspiring DJ’s should understand. I have encountered needy mindsets of young guys hunting forums/blogs for all the latest leaked promos. It’s like a fever man, not good for anyone.

Are you afraid of piracy?
Well not really afraid of it… I understand its pros and cons, Although I feel its killing artists and more importantly breaking hearts. I see it like most others. Its costs more for a cup of coffee, Which when drunk gives a quick buzz and is quickly extracted in urinary form. Now on the other side paying for music, especially in digital form can lasts a life time and you get the same pleasure each time you hear it. Now you tell me. What’s more value for money…….?

Who’s been your favourite musician or producer that you have worked with over the years?
Bass Kleph hands down. The guy is fu*king talented and has gathered much wisdom on his travels… Kleph has been there from my first day in audio school. Roughly 7 years ago the guy gave me my first tutor in Reason 2.0. Kleph has seen me through the following years right through to releasing my first record on his label Vacation Records in 2007. Another must mention is Mr “Tommy Trash” this guy has some serious musical skills. His compositions of late are incredible. Words cant really describe. Just keep your ears peeled.

Who is rocking your boat these days and who are your top tips for 2008? /What DJ’s and producers are doing it for you these days?
Right now I’m all about the Australian’s… Bass Kleph, Tommy Trash, Hook N Sling, Dopamine, Aston Shuffle. These guys are all killing it and very inspirational to have in my producer network.
In the International League. Adam K, Soha, Santiago & Bushido Deadmau5, Stupid Fresh, Mowgli, Rene Amesz, Chris Lake, Sebastian Leger. SOOOOO many strong artists right now impossible to name them all.
