with Midnight Juggernauts at Barcelona airport
Things aren’t getting any slower… The other weekend started off on Thursday in Barcelona where my dj agent Magic & Medicine was doing a showcase during the Sonar festival and hosted one of the five rooms in that huge emporium that is Razzmatazz. I shared the decks with the roster’s other acts, Midnight Juggernauts and Tronik Youth. With Felix Da Housecat, Etienne De Crecy, Yuksek, James Holden & Border Community crew all playing in the other rooms, you can imagine this was some kind of event.
The next day I had to rush off to Milan for Pink Is Punk’s last do this side of the summer. Despite the crazy heat that’s suddenly hit Europe it was one of the best I’ve played at (I visit them every month) not least for the fact that Milan fashion week always drags an international crowd that sure likes to party.
Saturday lunchtime I jumped in another plane, this time to deejay at Club Sandwich’s third birthday in Paris. This gay/fashion night has been resurrecting the glamorous spirit of the capital’s best clubs such as Le Palace. No other night in Paris reaches that level of dressing-up and silliness right now.
I played a special 3hr party set then rushed to the airport straight after the club (and no sleep) to catch the first plane back to Milan to play the music at Vivienne Westwood’s Man show at 2pm. After a couple of hours nap we all had diner with the staff in the evening and I finally got the chance to relax and sip a cocktail or two with Vivienne and her husband Andreas, the creative force behind this legendary clothes label.
