Oh YES! The D-Joust is back and this time it’s personal!

And it’s back with a vengeance for 2008!

This highly credible competition, which has grown in size and stature every year since 2005 has a simple mission:

“To unearth unsigned DJ talent and provide them with a platform, through a series of knock-out rounds performed in front of live audiences, to demonstrate their skill and propel their career forwards.”

The D-Joust vibe and reputation has already infiltrated the UK dance scene and now for 2008 we see the D-Joust stretch out to 3 venues in Central London, The East Midlands and Mainland Europe!

Format

Mixes submitted to the competition will be judged by a panel of seasoned music professionals; people with a passion for the scene and years of experience. Those judged good enough will progress to the LIVE heats and finals. The panels of judges pick the heat winners and runners up are selected by a public vote.

After the regional heats all eyes turn to London where all the regional heat winners and runners up come together to compete in 2 Semi finals and the chosen few will meet again for one hell of a grand finale to fight for the title of ‘D-Joust Winner 2008’!

In 2007 after a hugely successful campaign with almost 400 DJs entering from all over Europe, Dr Fish (aka Ben Mathews) stepped into 05/06 winner, Janette Slack’s rather large shoes to become the reigning D-Joust Champion

Since winning the 2007 D-Joust competition Ben has been lucky enough to play along side artists such as Far Too Loud, Slyde, Vandal, Eric Morrillo, Janette Slack, Chicken Lips, the Loose Cannons, NAPT and The Western Allstars, playing at venues including Ministry Of Sound, The Whitehouse, Herbal and many more.
