Just back from Paris where I spent a restless week. My music partner Andrea & I (aka JBAG) deejayed at a couple of fun parties. It started off in a frenzy as as soon as we dropped our bags after that long (but ideal to listen to new music) London to Paris drive we rushed to meet our good friends Gildas & Masaya from Kitsuné who were deejaying at Bagatelle in Bois de Boulogne, a new posh crowd hangout in the rich area of west Paname (also famous for its tranvestite prostitutes).

Champagne magnums and vodka were freely flowing and enjoying a night off I left legless after bopping to Kitsuné’s rockin’ party mix. Andrea had to drive us home (oh dear) which really only happens once in a blue moon…The next day JBAG played a three hour set at Club Sandwich. Held at Espace Cardin between place de la Concorde and les Champs Elysés (s’il vous plait) this monthly gay/fashion gathering (over 1000 crowd) is currently the most hedonistic party in Paris. As residents we have a lot of fun playing right across the board (from 70s disco to electrock via B’more and pop booties) to a mixed young/old crowd that’s expecting a bit of everything.

A couple of days later JBAG was behind the decks again for a couple of dj sets at the launch of JP Gaultier’s new fragrance MaDame. Model Agyness Deyn being the face of the French designer’s last perfume, the organisers of the event had the good idea of inviting thirthy BoomBox faces/characters from London and with pink champagne and lethal cocktails in abundance, I let you imagine the results. Paris rarely witnesses such a nuclear reaction.

Three floors, amazing food & drinks, video installations, playful rooms including photo booths, hair & make-up and more, I’ve rarely witnessed an event so well conceived - and with so much budget! Uffie sang a couple of her tunes for the occasion and I bumped into her again (with her fiancé André – king of the Parisian nights) a few days later at my dear buddy Gildas’ wedding. It’s been long coming but he finally tied the knot with his longtime partner Romy. And before you ask, yes, Daft Punk were in the attendance… he’s Kitsuné’s head honcho but also their manager, so what do you expect?
