If there are a few names who can easily hypnotise me with the art of producing music Anders Ilar is one of them, shouldn’t disregard Vector Lovers , Apparat and Lusine ...
” Anders has been making music for most of his life, though he has not released anything until December 2000.
He was born in December 1973 and grew up in a small town in the middle of Sweden, where he spent most of his teens playing with sequencers and drum machines. Making nearly hundreds of tracks but never really feeling satisfied with the quality of the productions he decided to quit and sell all the gadgets in 1997.
He had learned to mix a few years earlier so instead he bought record players and became a dj. He left his hometown in 1993 and finally ended up in Gothenburg 1997 where he also studied sexology at the university.- just in case if you needed to know
After a few years of not making music he picked it up again by accident in 2000 when he made 2 tracks on a friends pc using simple software.
Anders’ musical output so far varies from purely dance floor compatible minimal techno to abstract ambient soundscapes, often described as deep, floating, cold, emotional, reduced etc.’’

Sworn, his latest album , promises to be another sublime excursion in warm Sonics, deep ambience and glitchy broken beats. Featuring track titles guaranteed to make you swoon such as ‘Imaginary Trees with Silver Leaves’ and ‘Path to the Sky’, and don’t forget to check out ‘Made for Us to Love’ and Ludwijka 3
You will also find sparkling electronica, abstract IDM-ish parts and deep clubby tunes with slices of acid and Chicago house in it. Despite the many different influences the result is a very coherent one as everything is embraced by Ilar’s enigmatic and unique haze of sound. “Sworn”, undoubtedly one of Ilar’s finest works to date, sophistication and blissfulness go hand in hand.
If only I could rate 10 out of 5 …
