Lot49 are back with their latest in their series of ‘Lot49 Presents…’ This time around, Lee Coombs has stepped up to bat and the mix album tracklist is looking extremely promising.

As is now standard with any upcoming Lot49 mix, a few sampler tracks arrive just before the big bomb drops. This time, whilst the package is smaller, I can assure you the punch it packs is equal to that of it’s predecessors. Elite Force and Meat Katie.

Elite Force returns with an original entitled Engine. The best track of the sampler, I’m glad this was released with it, because it’s a well and truly mind-throbbing monster. Massive kicks and a Zodiac Cartel-like (I still think Shack has some part in the whole mystery of ZC) main synth and bass makes this one of my favourite Elite Force tracks. This devilish monster shows exactly why Elite Force is one of the kings of Tech-funk. Using his own elements and utilising similar sounding elements from fellow workers of the scene to create an amazing piece of tech-funk.

Lee Coombs and Nick Thayer collaborate to give another original number. TFM. This consistent breaks belter brings across with it a domineering, wall shaking electro bass. Mid track it fades the bass across your speakers to build up the momentum before bringing the track out. This one, like all other Lot49 collabs, really shows the artists production styles. Coombs and Thayer really show that their styles meld perfectly.

Electro punkers Alloy Mental are given the remix treatment by Lot49 label boss Meat Katie. An absolute puncher that would certainly lift the tiles on a dancefloor. The beats are huge, the electro synths are here in a massive fashion and rightly so, because this sampler seems to be deficit of the minimal and tech styles present from the previous samplers. That’s not to say that’s a bad thing. Personally, I think it’s freakin’ brilliant.
