Cut Copy, Soulwax…

Quelle semaine!
Wednesday I had the honor of supporting the always uplifting Cut Copy at their Scala gig in Kings Cross, London. Not exactly used to this genre of exercise (what are you supposed to play before a band?) I ended up playing a selection of italo & balearic discopop in order to put everyone in a good mood.
Thursday the Dewaele brothers invaded the Royal Festival Hall in Embakment for the London premiere of their instructive documentary ‘Part of The Weekend Never Dies’ (soon to be released on dvd). The film gives an hilarious insight into their crazy day-to-day schedule touring the world. Soulwax then played another of their incendiary live shows whilst 2 Many Djs closed the evening after pal Tiga. As an electrock band or DJs the Belgian siblings are simply impossible to beat at their game… and they’re among the nicest people you’ll ever come across. Some things just ain’t fair…
That’s not all Saturday (26th April) Neon Noise Project kicks off at Unit 7 in Cable studios, Limehouse. MSTRKRFT are headlining and as resident I’ll be deejaying with my partner in crime Andrea Gorgerino under our JBAG guise. Then Sunday we’ll be gracing the decks at the launch of the very hip Ponystep website… but shhh more on that later.
S’Express - Stupid Little Girls (JBAG Remix) | Buy
Mark Moore’s outfit is back on Kitsuné with a great song and a rockin’ remix by yours truly
This has been around for a fair while but it’s still one of my biggest records, surrealist electro!
Crystal Castles - Courtship Dating | Buy
Like them or not the Canadian duo’s breaking all the rules and sound unlike anyone else
Siriusmo - Mein neues Fahrrad (Boys Noize Rework) | Buy
Now picked up by Boys Noize this should become ‘the’ minimal-ish love anthem it’s crying out to become
