It’s raining heavily outside my room now (Fortunately, because I adore the rain) and the day has been slow so I thought “Why not listen to some good ol’ Drum & Bass” and began sifting through the latest releases on DJDownload and I stumbled across some new Hospital Records releases.

Like Lot49, Hospital is another one of my favourite labels because of their influential tunes and artists.

The labels latest release on DJDownload being Mistabishi’s ‘She Lied / Falling in Love’ and as I’m always interested in hearing stuff on Hospital I hadn’t heard before I grabbed this in the hope that it contained the stunning Jazz’N Bass productions Logistics, London Elektricity and Nu:Tone continuously slam on the table.

As always, I’ll stay honest and say that I’m not a deep DnB listener, I’ve only just scratched the surface.

She Lied is (Of course) a very upbeat affair with (Now that I’ve got my Altec Lansings fixed) an epic and deep bassline that has a rock band style to it.

Mistabishi includes the traditionally used trance-style synth to help keep the track on it’s feet.

Falling in Love featuring. Danman is an atmospheric gem. Mistabishi defies some of the conventions of Drum & Bass a bit here with a very refreshing beat pattern that perfectly suits Danman and his Sean Kingston (Far better) like vocals.

The bassline in this one has an extremely inspirational vibe to it. Mistabishi has worked wonders with this one and I love it. One of my favourite Drum and Bass tracks of 2008.

This is everything I’ve come to expect from a Hospital Records release. Nothing insanely heavy (ala Noisia) but ‘tasteful’ Drum and Bass.

Incorporating lightweight elements that usually aren’t found in DnB and utilising them to their fullest potential.

Can’t wait for Mistabishi’s full length LP (Due out sometime late 08′ early 09′)
