When I first heard Poney Poney , thought that it was just another Justice wannabe band , but then found out that it was actually Xavier De Rosnay of Justice who has produced the album for the Parisian trio and has expanded his exquisite production skills…
The band met at the college 2 years ago and having influenced by the likes of Magnetic Fields, Ronettes , Arcade Fire; without a doubt Poney Poney is a name that will soon be a trademark for success …
‘Cross The Fader’ starts as a psychedelic rock track, sharp guitars, fat analogue keys with a sparkle of Justice syncopation. Headman remix, delivers his trademark of dark Swiss disco, Bitchee Bitchee Ya Ya on the other hand, turns it into an electro- punk pleasure , my favourite, however , is the Chateau Marmont remix of ‘Junior’… If you have a love for the Teenagers then you will love ‘Poney Poney’…
